Dmitry Bivol is a mixed martial artist, former WSOF welterweight champion, and Russian mixed martial arts heavyweight champion. He is also the current WSOF Interim Welterweight Champion.

Dmitry Bivol was born in Krasnodar, Russia on October 4th 1991. At the age of 12 years old he began training in judo and sambo. After his father’s death, he moved to Moscow to live with his mother who introduced him to MMA. In 2008, at the age of 18 years old he joined the Russian Army where he trained in boxing and MMA for two years before being discharged from military service due to an injury.

Bivol made his professional debut on March 10th 2012 as an amateur against Alexey Ignashov.
